Brunch and Show Fundraiser






The members of the Zonta Club of Morristown Area (Zontamorristown.com) cordially invite you to join them on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 3-6 pm to celebrate their 60th Anniversary. An Anniversary Holiday Tea will be held to benefit their Service Fund.  The Tea and a light repast will be held at The Cosy Cupboard, 4 Old Turnpike Road, Convent Station, New Jersey. Tickets are $50 per person and checks should be written out to Zonta and mailed to Judy Chapman, Treasurer, PO Box 279, Long Valley, New Jersey 07853. Among organizations that the Zonta Club helps and the service fund supports are: Operation Holiday; Centenary Stage Company’s Women Playwright’s Series; Jersey Battered Women’s Shelter (JBWS); the Girl Scouts (GSNNJ) and provides a scholarship opportunity for a high school girl graduating and going on to study public affairs; as well as numerous other community-based projects.

The Zonta Club of Morristown Area, a local club of Zonta International (Zonta.org), meets monthly. Members live in all counties in NJ. New members are welcome and can get membership information at zontamorristown.com.  Zonta International empowers women worldwide through service and advocacy.


Dr. Unjeria Jackson Selected as Zonta Woman of the Year



Our annual Woman of the Year event is set for Monday, April 25th at the Madison Hotel Conservatory (6pm).  This year, we are recognizing Dr. Unjeria Jackson, a retired physician who specialized in maternal-fetal medicine.  Dr. Jackson has not only provided OB/GYN care to women for decades, but she has been a dedicated community volunteer, serving on various boards.  She is currently the president of the board of the P. G. Chambers School, an education and therapy center for mutilple-disabled children serving Morris County and beyond. 



Joen Luy Ferrari Honored as Zonta Woman of the Year

The Zonta Club of Morristown Area will hold its annual Woman of the Year benefit on Tuesday evening, April 21, 2015 in the Conservatory a the Madison Hotel, Convent Station, NJ. The Woman of the Year for 2015 is Joen Luy Ferrari of Morristown.

Currently Ms Ferrari is a member of the boards of Morris Arts (executive committee), Morris County Tourism Bureau (Secretary). Friends of Historic Speedwell (President) and National Society of Arts and Letters, New Jersey Chapter (Vice President). She is discussing fund raising and board structure to assist the Mental Health Association of Morris County.   She is a member of the Morris Township Board of Adjustment.

Her past board memberships: P.G. Chambers School (when was The Children’s Center), The Mental Health Assoc. of Morris County, Dress for Success (first President),United Way (Allocations co-chair, Priorities Chair, Target Team Member, Recipient of Gold Award, agency relations executive team), First Night (Vice President, manned headquarters) Historic Speedwell (President of Friends, Friends of History Award recipient), Morris Museum (Board of Trustee Executive Committee) Friends of Morris Museum (President, chair of black-tie fundraisers, Tree Festival Chair), Bickford Theater (Guild executive board, theatre advisory committee, guild fund raiser gala), American Red Cross Northwestern chapter (Board Chair, major fund raising, capital campaign, reorganization committees), Arts Council of Morris Area (now Morris Arts, board secretary, marketing and development committees, major fund raising) Colonial Symphony (helped with Evening of Note fundraiser).
Her professional career of years of engineering experience at Western Electric, Bell Telephone Laboratories concluded with her retirement from Lucent/ATT.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Service Program of Zonta which includes support of Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey Leadership Program; underwriting a youth summer camp scholarship for the child of a Jersey Battered Women resident; support of the Women Authors’ initiative at Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ., donations to Operation Holiday, Dress for Success and Employment Horizons.
